citations: "He started to whistle. But someone in front swiveled around and gave an angry look."pq. 27
"He didn't like the notion that he was the only one who held his gun that way." pg.19
"At the highest point, only a little way beyond, was Richmond, where they were going to fight." pg.25
There are many reason's why I think Jonathan felt Isolation & Alienation. As you can read in my citations have helped me support my theme. Jonathan is very different from the other's in many ways and one includes age. He is only a 13 year old and he thinks that he can go to war without thinking about the consequences. That is what his father is trying to do. He is trying to tell him that he is too young to go to war but Jonathan's daydreaming is getting the best out of him. While Jonathan is carrying the musket he sees that he is the only one that couldn't handle a musket like the others. Also ,while he is carrying the musket (as shown in my citation) he whistles and finds himself with his mouth shut just by an angry look. He could tell that they were full of fear of what's lying ahead. He felt isolated because he was the only one that hadn't known about war. These are the reason's that I think Joe felt isolated and alienated.
